A Lake County deputy and a pedestrian were seriously injured Wednesday morning after a vehicle struck the deputy’s car, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

LAKE COUNTY, FLORIDA – A Lake County deputy and a pedestrian were seriously injured Wednesday morning after a vehicle struck the deputy’s car, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

Deputy Austin Pringle, 27, and a pedestrian identified as 22-year-old Cerontae Hodge were injured after a vehicle struck the two men around 6:15 a.m., who were standing next to the deputy’s car at the time of the crash.

The driver of the vehicle has been identified as 53-year-old Kim Johnson from Lady Lake, Florida. Johnson was not injured in the crash, according to the report.

Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash.
