Florida Tech Women’s Golf Team Garners Five WGCA All-America Scholar Selections

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Five Florida Tech women’s golfers have been named All-America Scholars by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA).

This marks the eighth consecutive year with at least one All-America Scholar selection for the Panthers, and sixth consecutive year with at least two honorees.

A total of 1,011 women’s collegiate golfers from NCAA Division I, II and III and NAIA were recognized as WGCA All-America Scholars.

The criteria for selection to the All-America Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics, requiring a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50.

Representing the Crimson & Gray on the 2017-18 All-America Scholar Teams are Megan Dennis, Lucy Eaton, Hailey Ko, Paola Ortiz and Lauren Watson. For Eaton and Ko, this is the second straight year that each has been distinguished with the award.

The five All-America Scholar selections is a program-best for the Panthers. Florida Tech, Lynn, and Saint Leo all led the Sunshine State Conference with five honorees, followed by Tampa with four.
