Brevard County South Area Parks and Recreation is offering a new education program, “Home School Science,” at the Rodes Park Community Center, located at 3410 Flanagan Avenue, in West Melbourne.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard County South Area Parks and Recreation is offering a new education program, “Home School Science,” at the Rodes Park Community Center, located at 3410 Flanagan Avenue, in West Melbourne.

Through hands-on activities, interactive presentations, experiments, and arts & crafts, children ages 5-10 will enjoy, discover and explore the wonders of science and nature.

The cost is $2 per child and all children must be accompanied by an adult. Passes available.

“Home School Science” is offered every other month from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Space is limited to 20 participants, so please register early.

• September 6: “How Tall Is That Tree?”
A fun introduction to protractors and trigonometry.

• September 13: “Taste, Touch, See, Smell and Hear”
Explore what our “senses” are and how they help us survive on planet Earth.

• September 20: “Natures Camouflage”
An introduction to animals environments and how they can hide in plain sight.

• September 27: “The Birds Of Rodes Park”
How to identify some of the many birds of Rodes Park.
