Brevard Grand Jury Issues Murder Indictments in Shooting Death of Cocoa Man

Harvey, 26, indicted for First Degree Premeditated Murder

A Brevard County Grand Jury issued murder and robbery indictments in connection with the July 29 shooting death of 22-year-old Dimitric Bailey from Cocoa.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – A Brevard County Grand Jury issued murder and robbery indictments in connection with the July 29 shooting death of 22-year-old Dimitric Bailey from Cocoa.

Markice Harvey, 26, was indicted for First Degree Premeditated Murder and Robbery with a Firearm while Inflicting Death.

Kenneth Levatt Jr., 24, and Xavier Turner, 22, were indicted for First Degree Felony Murder and Robbery with a Firearm.

Xavier Turner, 22, and Kenneth Levatt Jr., 24, were indicted for First Degree Felony Murder and Robbery with a Firearm.

Cocoa Police discovered Bailey had been shot to death in a car at the end of Vagabond Street at approximately 7:46 pm on July 29.

Their investigation later revealed that Harvey, Turner, and Levatt Jr. set out to rob Bailey. However, Harvey shot and killed Bailey during the incident of the crime.

Markice Harvey, 26, was indicted for First Degree Premeditated Murder and Robbery with a Firearm while Inflicting Death.

The Grand Jury heard testimony from a Cocoa Police investigator, a Brevard County Sheriff’s Office crime scene investigator, and the Brevard County Medical examiner before issuing the indictments.

All three men were previously arrested and remain in custody at the Brevard County Jail on no bond.

Dimitric Bailey

Their first appearance* was scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.
