BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA (Florida Tech) – Florida Tech men’s basketball coach Billy Mims has announced the signing of Mekhii Noble to the 2018-19 signing class.

Noble comes to Florida Tech after a successful scholastic career at Potter’s House Christian Academy in Jacksonville, Florida. He averaged 14.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.5 assist per game, and shot 48 percent from the field and 70 percent from the free throw line.

The 6-foot-8, 205-pound forward played his club ball for the BYAA Bulls.

Noble, who also played football at Potter’s House, was named to the FICAA All-State Team as well as the SIAA All-Academic Team.

As a junior, he was named the Offensive Most Valuable Player for PHCA and then the Most Improved Player during his senior season.

He was selected an All-Star at the Edward Waters College Camp and recognized as a High School All-Star by BOSS WEEK.

“Signing with Florida Tech was a great decision for me, due to the school’s overall academic success and high quality sports program,” Noble said.

“I feel Florida Tech will help me become a better person on and off the court, along with helping get me to the next level. I know I will get a first class education, and Coach Mims has helped several Panther players go on to play professionally. I’m hoping that Coach Mims and Florida Tech will help me get to the next level too.”

Coach Mims says of Noble: “We’re very excited about the addition of Mekhii Noble to our Panther basketball team. He played high school basketball at Potter’s House Christian Academy in Jacksonville but they played on a national schedule competing against some of the top programs in the country.

“Mekhii brings size, athleticism and strength to our team. He’ll have some big shoes to fill as a possible replacement for Sam Daniel, a four year starter and All-American who just signed a pro contract in Brazil, but I think Mekhii is up to the challenge.”
