The Melbourne Police Department is offering local residents a chance to learn how to start your own Neighborhood Watch in your community.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Since its beginning, Neighborhood Watch has grown from an extra eyes and cars approach to ‘crime prevention’ to a much more proactive community-oriented endeavor that provides a unique infrastructure that brings together local officials, law enforcement and citizens for the protection of their communities.

With this in mind, the Melbourne Police Department is offering local residents a chance to learn how to start your own Neighborhood Watch in your community.

A Melbourne Police Officer will be on hand to provide a detailed look at National Neighborhood Watch. You will learn what it takes to start and how to maintain a local Neighborhood Crime Watch program.

MPD urges anyone interested to join them for this free event on Tues. Aug. 28 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at their Community Relations Center inside Melbourne Square Mall, located at 1700 West New Haven Avenue in Melbourne.

Space is limited to 25 people, so please email Christina.Brainard@mlbfl.org to reserve your seat.
