BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Kyleigh may only be 4 years old but she already knows what she wants to be when she grows up, a Deputy Sheriff with the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.

Kyleigh loves cops and our partners at Fire/Rescue so much that yesterday morning with the help of her parents she decided to host a Donut Stand for her local heroes. Kyleigh told her parents that she wanted to give her local heroes a donut and a smile so she could show them how much she loves them.

I probably don’t have to tell you, but the “Hero Donut Stand” got a lot of business from both our agency and our partners at Brevard County Fire Rescue.

Throughout the morning Deputy Sheriffs, Corrections Deputies, Agents, Citizens Observer Patrols, Fire Trucks and even one of our Bloodhounds showed up to meet Kyleigh and get Donuts.

Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey made sure that his favorite K-9 “Junny” stopped by to see Kyleigh and personally thank her for being our hero. (BCSO image)

While I personally didn’t get to stop by to grab a donut, I did get a chance to speak with Kyleigh and her parents by telephone so I could tell her how much we appreciate her support and love.

I also made sure that the Sheriff’s favorite K-9 “Junny” stopped by to see Kyleigh and personally thank her for being our hero.

I tell everyone that we are truly blessed to serve as Law Enforcement Officers in Brevard County where our citizens love us, trust us, and protect us just as much as we love, trust, and protect them.

Kyleigh’s show of love yesterday is a perfect example of just how true that statement really is.

Please join me in thanking Kyleigh for inviting us all to meet her, Kyleigh’s parents who made yesterday possible, and all the First Responders who stopped by to meet Kyleigh so they could leave with a smile!

– Sheriff Wayne Ivey
