SURF REPORT: Hurricane Florence Will Produce Fun Surf in Waist-High Range, Chest-High Sets
By Space Coast Daily // September 8, 2018
Bob Freeman’s Surf Report For Sept 8 AND 9

Good Morning, Surfers
Saturday: Groundswell waves with a 13-second interval from Florence will produce fun surf in the waist-high range with frequent chest-high sets. A light onshore wind will produce semi-bumpy surface conditions.
Sunday: Increased groundswell from Florence will build waves up into the chest-high range with clean lines early from an offshore breeze.
Workweek: Florence will have returned to Hurricane strength and will continue to send pumping groundswell our way for most of this coming week. Florence’s forecast track will place us in a favorable offshore wind pattern for most of the week.
Don’t expect massive waves on our beaches as Florence’s strongest winds do not extend outward from center far enough to generate a 15 – 17 second wave interval.
However, Florence will produce exceptionally good surf with the biggest waves on Wednesday and Thursday pushing 7ft at the better surf spots.
Cocoa Beach ocean temperatures now average 84 degrees.
