'Faces of the Future' Fundraising Breakfast to be held at Space Coast Convention Center in cocoa
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida will host its Annual Faces of the Future Fundraising Breakfast on Thursday, September 20, at the Space Coast Convention Center at State Road 520 and I-95 in Cocoa.
The event will begin with a Mix & Mingle registration at 7:30 a.m. The mission inspired program will begin at 8 a.m. with breakfast served.
The children of the Boys & Girls Clubs in Brevard will lead the program and Mack Reid, COO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida will provide an organizational update.
State Attorney Phil Archer will talk about how the Boys & Girls Clubs have impacted the community and police officer Chris Hattaway will close out the program with a plea to the community.
“This annual fundraiser meets a critical need in serving the more than 443 Brevard County children we nurture each year,” said Gary Cain, President & CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida.
“Without our cubs in Cocoa, Melbourne and Mims, these children wouldn’t have a safe place to go after school, and wouldn’t receive the academic help, extracurricular enrichment, and emotional support that they so critically need.
“The of the goal of this year’s breakfast is to raise sufficient funds and awareness to gain support for Children we currently serve in Brevard, as well as, getting some of the kids off the waiting list and into the Cocoa Club. We are also working on opening a Club in Titusville.”
Since 1944, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida has provided at-risk children from the local community, between the ages of 6 and 18, with a safe place to learn and grow.
“We have taken notice of the increasing rate of juvenile crime,” said JoLynn Nelson, retired Chief Attorney for Juvenile Justice.
“With an organization like the Boys & Girls Club, I believe we can change that. Their programs are a more cost-effective and practical way to invest in our children’s futures.”
