Kevin Killgren of Cocoa Dies In Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Cocoa Beach Monday Afternoon

Kevin Killgren, 34, of Cocoa, died Monday afternoon when the motorcycle he was operating struck another vehicle at the intersection of W. Cocoa Beach Cswy. (State Road 520) and N. Banana River Boulevard at about 1:45 p.m.

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – Kevin Killgren, 34, of Cocoa, died Monday afternoon when the motorcycle he was operating struck another vehicle at the intersection of W. Cocoa Beach Cswy. (State Road 520) and N. Banana River Boulevard at about 1:45 p.m.

According to the Cocoa Beach Police Sergeant Manny Hernandez, it appears as though Killgren was traveling west on W. Cocoa Beach Causeway operating his 2003 Suzuki motorcycle when he struck a 2005 Ford pickup driven by Jared Smithwick, 21, of Cleburne, Texas, that was turning north onto N. Banana River Boulevard.

“Killgren was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries,” said Sgt. Hernandez.

Killgren’s next-of-kin has been notified and the investigation is active and ongoing.
