BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Tropical depression (eight) has developed into Tropical Storm Helene off the coast of West Africa.

Helene is carrying 45 mph winds and moving to the west 13 mph.

Meteorologists with the National Hurricane Center (NHC) expect Helene to strengthen to a hurricane by Sunday night

The storm’s projected path by the National Hurricane Center shows no threat to the United States.
