UCF Knights Climbs To No. 16 In Associated Press Poll, Top Ranked Team in the State of Florida

ORLANDO, FLORIDA (UCF Knights)  – The UCF football team’s week three game at UNC was canceled due to Hurricane Florence in North Carolina, but that didn’t stop the Knights from climbing in the AP Top 25 Poll on Sunday.

UCF checks in at No. 16 this week.

The Knights passed TCU, Wisconsin and Boise State in the poll, but fell behind Oklahoma State, receiving 556 total points. The Knights remain the top ranked team in the state of Florida and the top team in the American Athletic Conference.

In the Amway Coaches Poll, UCF stayed put at No. 18. The Knights were unable to move past the Horned Frogs or the Badgers in the eyes of the coaches, as Wisconsin and TCU sit at 16 and 17, respectively.

UCF totaled 500 points in the Coaches Poll.

With two wins over UConn and South Carolina State under their belt, the Knights find themselves ranked second in the nation in total offense with 609 yards per game, and fifth in the nation in scoring defense, allowing just 8.5 points per game.

UCF will hosts FAU Friday night at 7 p.m. The game between the Knights and the Owls will air on ESPN and FM 96.9/AM 740 The Game.
