Palm Bay police detectives are now investigating the death of a man as a homicide after his body was found Monday in a business trailer at 9400 Babcock Street SE.

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Palm Bay police detectives are now investigating the death of a man as a homicide after his body was found Monday in a business trailer at 9400 Babcock Street SE.

According to the Palm Bay police, Casey Dawayne Cheney, 46, was found when relatives had not heard from the victim and discovered him during a welfare check.

According to the Palm Bay police, Cheney was known to purchase saw palmetto berries from local pickers.

Authorities said Cheney was doing business out of the trailer where his body was found and Palm Bay police detectives ask anyone with information to contact the Palm Bay Police Department at 321-952-3539 or CRIMELINE AT 1-800-432-TIPS.
