Cocoa Police Searching For Home Burglary Suspect Who Attacked Woman While She Was Sleeping

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-11 in height, weighs between 180-220 pounds, short afro style hair with a stubble beard and light skin. He was wearing gym style pants, short sleeve shirt with “Orlando, Walk a mile in her shoes” printed on the front. BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Cocoa Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect who broke into a home and attempted to break into a second home overnight.

In one case, the suspect attacked a woman who was asleep in her bedroom and struck her in the head with a vase. Police say she was not seriously injured.

According to the investigation, at 1:10 a.m., dispatchers received a 911 call from a woman residing on Jackson Street who said someone broke into her home while she was sleeping.

The woman told officers she was asleep in her bed when someone entered her room and struck her in the head with a vase.

The victim reported the suspect then he fled her home.

At 2:40 a.m. another female called 9-1-1 to report someone was ringing her door bell and she was afraid someone was trying to break in to her home on South Carolina St.

The victim told officers she could see the suspect on her home surveillance cameras.

Cocoa Police reviewed the surveillance video which shows the suspect removing a screen from a window before ringing the doorbell, and, eventually, left the house.
