Florida Fish and Wildlife Officers Nail Boater Under the Influence With 56 Undersized Spiny Lobsters

MyFWC –Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officers recently nailed a poacher who was operating a boat recklessly.

According to FWC officials, after being alerted to the situation, FWC officers were on the lookout for the dangerous boater and approached the vessel that matching the description they were given.

“The operator of the boat veered toward a dock and began taking lobster from a cooler and throwing it off the boat,” said FWC officials.

“A sobriety test revealed that the boater was under the influence. Further inspection of the boat led to the discovery of 61 spiny lobster, 56 of which were undersized.”

An out-of-season, undersized stone crab in whole condition was also found on the boat. The boater was cited for these violations and arrested for Boating Under the Influence.
