OFF TO THE RACES: Space Coast’s Mobility Week Set October 26 to November 3

Free-ride for passengers who show 321Transit app

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Space Coast Area Transit and the Space Coast TPO are set to celebrate the third annual Mobility Week October 26 to November 3.
Space Coast Area Transit is participating in Mobility Week with a free-ride for passengers who show the 321Transit app on “Try Transit Thursday,” and a Special Edition of “Ride with Jim” featuring Scott Lagasse Jr., a celebrity NASCAR driver.
Lagasse, Jr. is a spokesperson for the Florida Department of Transportation’s “Alert Today Alive Tomorrow” campaign, which raises awareness about pedestrian and bicyclist safety. He has become known as a speedway specialist, evident by his four-consecutive top-10 finishes in NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

Additional activities throughout the week, intended to bring attention to safe multimodal transportation choices in Brevard County, include:
■ October 26 Trunk or Treat at Travis Park in Cocoa: Join the Space Coast TPO at a safe Halloween alternative for kids with plenty of candy and Trick or Treat bicyclist/pedestrian safety information.
■ October 29 Ride with Jim in Merritt Island/Cocoa Beach: Share coffee and conversation with the people who help shape Brevard’s Transit System! Seating is Limited and pre-registration is required. Three seats are still available; register at 321Transit.com/RideWithJim
■ October 30 and 31 Bus Stop Pop Up Events: Space Coast Area Transit and the Space Coast TPO will “pop up” at area bus stops, thanking bus riders with giveaways and safety information. Various bus stop locations and times.
■ November 1 Try Transit Thursday: Show the 321Transit app on any mobile device and Ride for free! To download the app, search “321Transit” at the iTunes app store or Google Play.
■ November 2 City of Cape Canaveral Friday Fest: Join the Space Coast TPO and the City of Cape Canaveral from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. at Friday Fest.
Free admission! Enjoy craft and retail vendors, food trucks, bounce houses, and live music.
