FOXBOROUGH, MASSACHUSETTS (Orlando City) –  Orlando City SC (7-20-4, 25 points) lost 2-0 to the New England Revolution (9-12-11, 38 points) on Saturday at Gillette Stadium.

“We started the second half really poor. Within the space of 10 minutes we’re 2-nil down,” Lions head coach James O’Connor said. “First half we needed more going forward. Second half we needed to start brighter and start to get on the ball. We get a sucker punch first goal, deflected and goes in, and the second goal is a really poor goal.”

Orlando City took a scoreless draw into halftime, but Cristian Pinella opened the scoring in the 51st minute. Diego Fagundez made it 2-0 in the 55th.

Goalkeeper Adam Grinwis made four saves in his second career MLS start. Lamine Sané wore the captain’s armband for the first time as a Lion.

The Lions return to Orlando City Stadium on Wednesday, Oct. 17, to host Seattle Sounders FC at 7:30 p.m. ET. City will host Columbus Crew SC on Sunday, Oct. 21, at 3 p.m. ET in the 2018 home finale.
