UPDATE: Titusville Man, 38, Killed After Grabbing Onto Moving Vehicle

Police are still investigating a pedestrian vs. vehicle crash that resulted in the death of a Titusville man early Monday morning at the intersection of South Robins Ave. and Pine St. in Titusville.

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Police are still investigating a pedestrian vs. vehicle crash that resulted in the death of a Titusville man early Monday morning at the intersection of South Robins Ave. and Pine St. in Titusville.

According to a Todd Hutchinson of the Titusville Police Department, at approximately 7:20 a.m. on Monday, officers responded to a report of a possible hit-and-run with injuries involving a pedestrian at the intersection of South Robins Avenue and Pine Street.

“The preliminary investigation has revealed that the pedestrian, Shane Laimont Hutchinson, 38, from Titusville , was walking in the area of South Robins Ave and Pine Street and approached a vehicle,” said Deputy Chief Hutchinson.

“For reasons unknown at this time, the man held onto the driver’s door while the driver tried to drive away. The man (Hutchinson) was struck by a trailer attached to the truck.”

The driver, Robert E. Hydorn, 54, from Titusville, left the scene but contacted the police later by phone.
