Florida Tech Panthers Finish Seventh at Legends Invitational in Orlando

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Tech shot a team score of 301 (+13) during the final round of the Rollins Legends Invitational on Tuesday and climbed two spots to seventh in the final standings at The Country Club of Orlando.
The Crimson & Gray finished with a combined score of 54-over 918 (317-300-301) and ended one stroke off of tying Lynn and St. Mary’s in a tie for fifth overall.
No. 2 Dallas Baptist won the team championship with a score of 877 (+13), while No. 3 Nova Southeastern placed second at 20-over 884. No. 10 Rollins claimed third with a three-round total of 34-over 898.
DBU’s Ann Parmerter, the No. 5 ranked player in the nation, won the tournament’s individual championship at 213 (-3). She finished three shots ahead of Wingate’s Warissara Puangcharoen and Barry’s Lauren Grinberg.
Megan Dennis led the Panther contingent, finishing in a tie for eighth at 6-over 222 (77-74-71). This is the third time this season that Dennis has finished among the top 10 in a tournament.
Hailey Ko dropped back into a tie for 27th after the final round, ending with a score of 14-over 230 (76-75-79). Noelle Beijer tied for 32nd at 16-over 232 (82-75-75) and Lucy Eaton tied for 41st at 18-over 234 (82-76-76). Marybeth McGuire rounded out the Panthers’ scoring group with at 37-over 253 (83-87-83).
Playing as an individual, Katie Toperzer finished in 73rd with a score of 48-over 274 (96-91-87).
This concludes the fall slate for the women’s golf team. The Panthers are off until Feb. 18-19 when the squad takes the course at Grasslands Golf & Country Club for the 2019 Lady Moc Classic.
