BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE BEACH, FLORIDA – Brevard County Sheriff’s Deputies and Brevard County Fire Rescue units are on the scene of a paragliding accident in the area of the Spessard Holland Golf Course on Oak Street in Melbourne Beach.
One trauma alert has been issued and Brevard County Fire Rescue personnel have transferred the patient to a Health First First Flight helicopter.
According to Brevard County Sheriff’s Office PIO Tod Goodyear. the paraglider crashed into the power lines in the area of the golf course, which has caused a power outage in the area.
“The skydiver has been transported to the hospital and FPL is responding to the scene for the electrical outage,” said Goodyear.
It is unknown at this time how long power will be affected in the area.
