UCF Knights Jump To No. 8 In AP Poll After Defeating Cincinnati, Clinches Berth To AAC Championship

Knights move up to No. 9 in Coaches Poll

ORLANDO, FLORIDA (UCF Knights) – The UCF football team defeated then No. 19/20 Cincinnati 38-13 Saturday night in front of a capacity crowd at Spectrum Stadium to improve to 10-0.

On Sunday, the Knights rose three spots to eighth in the AP Top 25 Poll.

UCF totaled 1,064 points in the poll, passing Ohio State and West Virginia, and moving into a tie with LSU for eighth in the nation. The Knights also climbed two spots in the Amway Coaches Poll to ninth with 1,108 points.

Eight is the highest ranking the Knights have had this season and the highest ranking for UCF during regular season play. The Knights are the highest ranked team out of the state of Florida and the top team in the American Athletic Conference.

Following the win over Cincinnati, the Knights have won 23 straight games, dating back to the start of the 2017 season. It’s the longest win streak in the nation, the longest in program history and the longest in American Athletic Conference history.

UCF will return to action on Friday, Nov. 23. The Knights take on South Florida at 4:15 p.m. with coverage on ESPN and FM 96.9/AM 740 The Game.

The Knights have clinched a spot in the American Athletic Conference Championship for the second year in a row.

UCF will play the winner of next week’s game between Houston and Memphis.

The title game is scheduled for Dec. 1 at 3:30 p.m. at Spectrum Stadium.
