In 2007, Payan served in Operation Jumpstart on the southwest border of the United States and Mexico.
He served our nation in Operation Iraqi Freedom, the American-led invasion of Iraq that was instrumental in toppling the Hussein regime, from 2008 to 2009.
Payan was also an Operations Officer at a M.E.P.S. (Military Entrance Processing Station). He oversaw the physical and academic testing of hundreds of recruits.
Today, he is the Headquarters Commander of the 3-345th Training Battalion, Army. Payan and the tenured servicemen in his unit are soon mobilizing to depart for Fort Bliss, Texas.
