BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – I am extremely proud to announce that members of our Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad took 3rd Place in the recently held “Robotic Explosives Ordinance Detection Rodeo” which takes place annually in Orange County.

The competition challenges Bomb Squads throughout the state in various scenarios that require the utilization of “Explosive Handling Robots” to solve scenario based problems.

During the week long competition our team competed against 20 teams from around the country, while also sharing techniques and strategies for responding to bomb threats in today’s world.

Our Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Team finished 3rd Place overall during the competition with Bomb Technician Jay Church also finishing 3rd place in the Bomb Tech Challenge Exercise.

Please join me in congratulating our team members for their efforts in the competition and also in thanking them for all they do each and every day to keep our community safe!
