Students from Croton Elementary School Honor Melbourne Police School Resource Officers

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE – Students from Croton Elementary School presented certificates of appreciation to the Melbourne Police Department to thank them for providing School Resource Officers and assistance with extra security this school year while the county security plan was being finalized.
Croton Elementary School is located at 1449 Croton Road in Melbourne.
Croton Elementary School’s principal is Dr. Roseann Bennett, who attended the University of Florida.
After earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise and Sports Sciences, she continued in school to earn a Master’s degree in Elementary Education.
Dr. Bennett moved to Key West and taught for three years. She returned to Gainesville for four years to teach and go back to school. She earned a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership before moving to Brevard County.
Her many certifications including Physical Education (K-8), Primary Education (K-3), Elementary Education (1-6), Educational Leadership (K-12), School Principal and an ESOL Endorsement, as well as a Reading Endorsement give her a variety of background experiences.
Dr. Bennett earned her doctoral degree from UCF in Educational Leadership. She also earned National Board Certification that enabled her to align instruction with standards and exemplary teaching practices. She has worked in diverse settings throughout Brevard County.
