COUNTRY MUSIC ICON CHARLIE DANIELS will headline the four-day 2019 Space Coast Seafood & Music Festival when he performs on the evening of Saturday, March 9 at Space Coast Daily Park, located in the heart of Brevard County, Florida.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Prepare to be awed when the fourth annual Space Coast Seafood & Music Festival arrives at Viera’s Space Coast Daily Park set for March 7-10.

This is no mere gobble festival, for along with all the enticing seafood comes four days of live musical entertainment that showcases everything from legends to the best new local bands.

“The fest is going to be among the hottest events next year,” said Tom Palermo, publisher of Space Coast Daily, which is sponsoring the fest.

Country music icons Travis Tritt, Charlie Daniels, The Cadillac Three, SOJA, Ky-Mani Marley, Molly Hatchet and the Space Coast Symphony will headline the four-day extravaganza at Space Coast Daily Park, located in Viera, in the heart of Brevard County, Florida.

Arrive hungry, because you will want to try out the many temptations. Florida’s Fine Seafood, for example, will present 150 feet of drool-inducing seafood, including crawfish, crab legs, alligator, calamari, lobster mac and cheese, and seafood boil, for starters.

CHARLIE DANIELS, AN AMERICAN TREASURE

From his Dove Award winning gospel albums to his genre-defining Southern rock anthems and his CMA Award-winning country hits, few artists have left a more indelible mark on America’s musical landscape than Charlie Daniels.

An outspoken patriot, beloved mentor to young artists and still a road warrior at age 81, Charlie has parlayed his passion for music into a multi-platinum career and a platform to support the military, underprivileged children and others in need.

Daniels is a multi-instrumentalist, lyricist, and singer, known for his contributions to Southern rock, country, and bluegrass music. He is perhaps best known for his number-one country hit “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.”

Daniels was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2008, the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum in 2009, and the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2016.

International reggae artist Ky-Mani Marley will perform in concert on Friday, March 8 along with other reggae artists to be announced soon.

Ky-mani’s father is legendary Robert Nesta Marley’s son, but is Ky-mani is definitely a star in his own right. In 2001, the Grammy-nominated Many More Roads, a “traditional” reggae album was released solidifying Ky-mani as an independent artist. His sound is a mixture of roots reggae overlaid with hip-hop, R&B and contemporary jazz.

Highly regarded Cocoa Beach-based tattoo artist Mark Longenecker, will lead his Dub Massive Sound to open this special evening.

“Our Dub Massive Sound brings the vibes of Jamaican Sound System Culture, mixed up with the antics of two tattoo artists – surfer bro D.J’s,” said Longnecker.

Dub Massive Sound will perform on The Miller Lite stage at 7 p.m. just before headliners Ky-Mani Marley and the world-renowned SOJA.

The Cadillac Three will perform on Saturday, March 9 at 7 p.m. The band includes Jaren Johnston (lead vocals, guitar), Kelby Ray (bass guitar, steel guitar, vocals) and Neil Mason (drums, vocals).

On Thursday, March 7, the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra will perform a special concert featuring THE MUSIC OF THE NIGHT by Andrew Lloyd Webber – a tribute to the composer of The Phantom of the Opera, Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita and many other hits.

The concert will last about 80 minutes and seating is open and non-reserved on a first-come, first served basis.

“Our focus is on creating programming that is balanced, accessible, innovative and artistically expansive,” said conductor Aaron Collins.

“For guests who like their fish properly prepared the British Way, fish and chip specialist The Btit will oblige with fresh fish fried to order and with chips, English style,” said Giles Malone, Space Coast Daily Partner and Space Coast Seafood & Music Festival Committee Chairman.

The team from Richard Cockerel’s What’s the Catch will present Key West grilled grouper, island shrimp and pan-seared ahi tuna, among others.

Hammerheads from Tampa will offer seafood jambalaya, sautéed scallops, grouper fingers, coconut shrimp, shrimp scampi, fried oyster, and for the guest who wants everything, a seafood platter.

Landlubbers don’t fret, for there will also be plenty of selections to your taste. Greek, BBQ, Italian, Chinese, Japanese cuisine will all be represented.

To wash all that food down, head to the International Beer and Wine Garden, which in addition to a wide selection of Miller Beer brews and vinos, will also feature cocktails.
