Eastern Florida State Titans Opens Conference Season On Saturday

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA (Eastern Florida) – The Eastern Florida State College men’s basketball team opens the Mid-Florida Conference schedule on Saturday afternoon, hosting the College of Central Florida at 4 p.m.

The Titans are the defending conference champions and enter the conference season 14-4 on the season and have won three in a row. Last season the Titans edges the College of Central Florida by one game for the title, going 8-2 down the stretch.

This season Eastern Florida State College boasts six players averaging nine or more points per game and are averaging close to 85 points per game as a team.

The College of Central Florida has won four straight after a slow start to the season and head into conference with a 11-7 record. Sophomore Quenton Jackson leads the Patriots offensively, averaging 18.4 points per game while teammate Jeremy Sheppard is averaging 15.6 points per game.

“We are very excited about opening up conference on Saturday. I am very proud of our guys on how they have come back from the break with an outstanding mentality and work ethic,” Eastern Florida State College men’s basketball coach Jeremy Shulman said. “Opening against such a talented, loaded, and well coached team as CCF is a great challenge for us right out of the gates. We are excited about the opportunity.”

Eastern Florida State College comes into the matchup No. 25 in the NJCAA Division I poll and has won three of the past five games in the series. Admission is free to games at Titan Field House.
