BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Oklahoma quarterback and Oakland A’s center fielder Kyler Murray is expected to enter the 2019 NFL Draft and is looking to become the first athlete ever selected in the first round of both the MLB and NFL Draft.

Although Murray has not officially announced that he is going into the NFL Draft, the Oakland Athletics are expecting him to give the NFL a chance, according to Bleacher Report.

Murray, who won the 2018 Heisman Trophy, was selected with the ninth overall pick in the 2018 MLB draft by the Oakland Athletics. In 2018 with the Oklahoma Sooners, Murray hit for a .296 BA, along with 10 HRs and 47 RBIs.

Along with being a standout for the Sooners baseball program, Murray was a star for the Sooners football team.

Murray accounted for a whopping 5,362 yards – 4,361 passing and 1,001 rushing – along with 42 passing touchdowns and 12 rushing touchdowns en route to winning the Heisman trophy.

He was the catalyst for the Sooners’ 12-2 record and an Orange Bowl appearance for the national championship where Oklahoma lost to Alabama 45-34. Murray threw for 308 yards, 2 touchdowns and ran for 109 yards and 1 touchdown in the national championship game.

The 5-foot-10-inch, 195-pound Murray signed a $4.66 million deal with the Oakland Athletics in June 2018. He is set to make only $200,000 less than his head coach of the Oklahoma Sooners football program, Lincoln Riley, according to CNN.

Hall of Fame running back Bo Jackson and Hall of Fame quarterback John Elway were both selected in the first round of the NFL Draft and the second round of the MLB Draft.

Seattle Seahawks Quarterback Russell Wilson, the winner of Super Bowl 49, is expected to participate in the New York Yankees Spring Training for the second year in a row. Wilson was a fourth-round draft pick of the Colorado Rockies in 2010.
