City of Melbourne Engineer Jenni Lamb Appointed New Deputy City Manager

Assistant City Engineer Keith Cunningham will serve as the Acting City Engineer

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Jenni Lamb has been appointed as the new Deputy City Manager of the City of Melbourne.

Lamb has been with the City of Melbourne for almost 20 years. Since 2005, she has served as City Engineer, managing the planning, budgeting and development of major infrastructure projects, including the design and construction of the current City Hall building, numerous road resurfacing and rebuilding projects, and key stormwater pollution reduction projects that benefit the Indian River Lagoon.

“I have been fortunate to be involved on the City’s team for development and capital improvement projects and look forward to continuing this work in my new role,” Lamb said.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as Deputy City Manager as the City continues to move forward.”

As Deputy City Manager, she will oversee the Engineering, Community Development and Public Works and Utilities Departments. She will also direct a number of special projects, including the design and construction of the new police station.

“Jenni is a tireless and creative problem-solver,” said City Manager Shannon Lewis.

“As a long-term employee of the City of Melbourne, she possesses a deep understanding of the opportunities and challenges that the city faces and will be able to make an immediate impact.”

Prior to coming to the City of Melbourne in September 1999, Lamb worked at the City of Palm Bay and at engineering firm Jones Edmunds & Associates. She holds a B.S. in environmental engineering from the University of Florida and is a licensed Professional Engineer.

Assistant City Engineer Keith Cunningham will serve as the Acting City Engineer until a new City Engineer is hired. Recruitment for a new City Engineer will begin in the coming weeks.
