BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Solaris Senior Living Merritt Island announced Dr. Ravi Rao, one of Central Florida’s leading cardiologists, will present a Heart Health Seminar on Monday, February 11.

The community, which is located at 535 Crockett Boulevard on Merritt Island, will present the free seminar at 3:30 p.m. on February 11 in the parlor. The event is open to the public.

Attendees will learn:

• Tips to improve the most important muscle in your body
• Advances in the treatment of heart disease
• Symptoms to watch for
• News on interventional and diagnostic treatments

“February is American Heart Month, and we are pleased to offer this important seminar to our residents and the community,” said Shawn Corley, Solaris Senior Living Administrator.

“We want to raise awareness of heart disease and are proud to present a leading cardiologist who specializes in innovative therapies, and is here to answer consumers questions and concerns,” he said.

Since the heart is one of the body’s most essential organs, it is important to understand how to keep it healthy, especially because heart disease is the leading cause of death among both men and women in the U.S.

Consumers can reduce their risk for developing heart disease by learning about the various types of heart disease, understanding the symptoms associated with heart disease and adopting heart-healthy lifestyle strategies.

Cardiovascular diseases claim more lives each year than all forms of cancer and Chronic Lower Respiratory Disease combined, according to the American Heart Association.
