BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA  – Police have arrested a Palm Bay woman for aggravated battery and theft after she was found hiding from officers in a cat cage on Wednesday.

The woman has been identified as 39-year-old Tabatha Del Villar,

Police say the woman was wanted after she reportedly struck Adrian Murray with his own flashlight while he was walking his dog on Hays St. NW.

According to the investigation, the incident happened when Del Villar approached the man and screamed profanities at him about the light from his flashlight waking her up every morning.

Officers say an altercation ensued after Murray pushed Del Villar away and was struck in the face with his flashlight after it was taken away from him.

Police say Murray called 911 after being injured and was taken to the hospital with injuries that could result in vision loss.

Del Villar was arrested after she was found hiding in a cat cage in the backyard after police tried speaking with her inside the house.

Police later discovered that Del Villar had a warrant out for her arrest for violation of probation.
