On Monday, April 24, Minutemen Causeway in Cocoa Beach between S. Orlando Avenue and Brevard Avenue will be closed for median modification in preparation for Tuesday paving.

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – The City of Palm Bay’s Culver Drive roadway widening project is progressing, with crews working to install new stormwater and utility infrastructure at the site before beginning work on the new road surface.

These infrastructure improvements will provide better drainage and enhanced utility service in the area.

In order to complete this process, temporary road closures are required to allow crews to install a culvert crossing on Culver Drive and a water line crossing near the intersection of Emerson and Culver.

To minimize the impact of the road closures, the work will be completed overnight between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.

This measure will prevent total closures on Emerson and Culver during daytime hours, which will greatly reduce the impact on area motorists. The scheduling change will also provide safer conditions for crews working on and near the roadway.

On the evenings of Tuesday, February 26, and Wednesday, February 27, the roadway near the intersection of Emerson Drive and Culver Drive will be closed from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. to allow for the installation of a water line crossing.

There will be an additional closure on Culver Drive on the evening of Thursday, February 28, from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. in order to install a new drainage culvert across the roadway.

Some of the excavation and construction work needed for the projects will require the use of heavy machinery.

Residents in the vicinity may experience some mild to moderate disruptions during the overnight operations. Instances of overnight construction will be limited as much as possible to keep resident impacts to a minimum.

This infrastructure improvement project is designed to address capacity issues on Culver Drive by widening the roadway from two to four lanes.

Please visit the City of Palm Bay website for more information about the project.
