Titusville Man Charged With Attempted First-Degree Murder, Numerous Drug Related Charges

Derrico French, 32, charged with 6 felonies, 2 Misdemeanors

Police arrested 32-year-old Derrico French after police say he tried to murder a man in a shooting on February 7.

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Police arrested a Titusville man after police say he tried to murder a man in a shooting on February 7.

The suspect has been identified as 32-year-old Derrico French.

According to the investigation, police responded to a report of shots fired from a moving vehicle on 3rd Ave.

When police arrived at the scene of the shooting, they found a man who was shot and injured.

Rescue crews quickly transported shooting victim to a local hospital with serious injuries.

After further investigation, police were able to locate and arrest French in Cocoa.

French has been charged with the following:

– Attempted First Degree Murder
– Trafficking Oxycodone
– Shooting a missile into a vehicle
– Possession of marijuana
– Possession of drug paraphernalia
– Possession of a firearm by convicted felon
– Failure to register as a sex offender

French is being held in the Brevard County Jail where he faces six felony charges.

His court date is set for March 7 in front of Judge Kenneth Friedland.
