Cocoa High Student Arrested After Striking Custodian, Pulling Woman From Her Car

Cocoa Police have arrested a 16-year-old male student at Cocoa High School for multiple felonies on Thursday.

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Cocoa Police have arrested a 16-year-old male student at Cocoa High School for multiple felonies on Thursday.

Witnesses say the teen struck a custodian in the back of the head with a golf cart battery charger as he fled a classroom.

After leaving the classroom, the teen then moved his way to the front car loop at Cocoa High and tried to pull a woman from her car.

Police say a school security specialist was able to intervene and detain the teen until Cocoa Police officers arrived.

The school custodian suffered a minor injury and was taken to the hospital as a precaution, according to officers.

The teen could face charges including felony battery, attempted carjacking, and assault on a school official.

The investigation is ongoing.
