Fuel Tanker Truck Overturns On I-95 Spilling Over 7,200 Gallons of Biodiesel Fuel Onto Interstate

Florida Highway Patrol responded to a crash Thursday morning involving a fuel tanker truck overturning on southbound I-95 near mile marker 197 in Cocoa.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Florida Highway Patrol responded to a crash Thursday morning involving a fuel tanker truck overturning on southbound I-95 near mile marker 197 in Cocoa.

The truck was carrying biodiesel fuel and has spilled over 7,200 gallons onto the interstate around 10 a.m.

The result of the crash forced officials to shutdown southbound  I-95 and divert traffic at SR-520. Since then, troopers have reopened all lanes of southbound I-95.

The crash happened after the driver of the truck became distracted, according to investigators.

No other vehicles were involved and the driver was treated with minor injuries.
