Melbourne Police are looking for Michael Postell who is wanted for a shooting incident that occurred on University Blvd. near Stone Middle School on March 4.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA –Melbourne Police are looking for a suspect in a shooting incident that occurred on University Blvd. near Stone Middle School on March 4.

Police have identified the suspect as 40-year-old Michael Postell from Melbourne.

The investigation has revealed that Postell was driving a white BMW when he pulled his vehicle in front of the victims car, exited the BMW and began shooting into the victim’s vehicle taking aim at her passenger.

During the exchange, both the driver and her passenger sustained non-life threatening gunshot wounds, according to police.

After Postell fired the shots, the victims sped away with Postell in pursuit.

Postell is known to the victim and her passenger, police say.

The shooting is not considered a random act.

Postell has been issued an arrest warrant for Aggravated Assault, Use of Firearm during the Commission of a Felony, Shooting into an Occupied Vehicle, and Possession of a firearm by a Convicted Felon.
