BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – A Brevard County Grand Jury issued an indictment charging 40-year-old Daniel Aaron Blair with one count of First Degree Premeditated Murder, one count of Burglary of a Dwelling and one count of Robbery in connection with the death of 63-year-old Christopher Johnston at his Titusville home.

According to records released by the State Attorney’s office, on the morning of March 22, 2019, Brevard County deputies were called to 1800 Kirby Drive in Titusville, where Johnston’s dead body had been discovered.

A witness reported that Blair told him he killed someone and was planning to flee the area.

Using this information, the investigation revealed that Blair entered Johnston’s house attempting to rob him, killed Johnston during the attempt, and then stole his truck and other property.

Investigators obtained an arrest warrant charging Blair with the murder, robbery and burglary.

At approximately 5 p.m. that same day on March 22, Ormond Beach Police attempted to arrest Blair, but he fled in Johnston’s truck and later crashed it.

Blair was arrested and taken to the Volusia County Jail on local charges and the Brevard County arrest warrant.

The Grand Jury heard testimony from Brevard County Criminal and Crime Scene Investigators, the Brevard County Medical Examiner, and lay witnesses, before returning with the indictments.
