Melbourne Bicyclist Dead After Hit By Vehicle Near South Harbor City Blvd.

Willie Herman Gainer, 60, died Friday Morning

A Melbourne man riding a bicycle was killed on Friday after he was hit by a vehicle near South Harbor City Blvd.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – A Melbourne man riding a bicycle was killed on Friday after he was hit by a vehicle near 2900 block on South Harbor City Blvd.

Police identified the man as 60-year-old Willie Herman Gainer.

Officers say when they arrived on scene around 7:50 a.m. they found Gainer had suffered life threatening injuries.

Gainer was rushed to Holmes Regional where he later died from his injuries.

The driver of the vehicle was a 35-year-old woman named Marina Gay Capuano from Malabar, Florida.

Police say they are investigating the crash as a traffic homicide.

Investigators are seeking to locate surveillance video and witnesses to assist in the investigation.
