Much Loved Melbourne Art Festival to Celebrate 35th Year This Weekend at Wickham Park

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The 35th Annual Melbourne Art Festival will be held among the trees and ponds at beautiful Wickham Park in Melbourne, Florida, April 27 and 28.

The much-loved annual festival, which draws tens of thousands of art and music lovers, is a vibrant family-friendly event that promotes and encourages artistic endeavors, education and appreciation of the arts in Brevard County.

The yearly non-profit festival, which is run completely by volunteers, features over 200 artists, live music, the Flamingo 5K Run, KidsWorld, sponsor displays, VIP Patron’s tent, and diverse food options in a serene park setting with plenty of parking.

The Melbourne Art Festival offers FREE admission, FREE parking, FREE children’s art projects and FREE live entertainment throughout the weekend.

The Melbourne Art Festival is a juried Fine Arts Show, drawing artists from throughout Florida and the United States. Originally held in the Downtown Melbourne for its first 32 years, the Festival moved to Wickham Park in 2017 due to limited parking, downtown congestion, and space limitations for artists, sponsors and food vendors.

Among the many highlights of this year’s festival:

• Nationally ranked, and juried, fine art show Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm with over 200 artists displaying original works of art in a variety of medias.
• The Flamingo 5K Run starting 7:30 am Saturday morning at Wickham Park with a course that no longer requires the closing of streets.
• The KidsWorld stage performances both days geared towards entertaining and engaging children.
• Multiple arts and crafts opportunities for kids to interact with, learn, create, and then take their art home to enjoy and remember.
• Two VIP Patron options which offer seating and beverages on a raised and covered area which is ideal to relax and view the live music. Patrons and Sponsors are also invited to a kickoff cocktail party on Thursday April 24 at Lexus of Melbourne with local restaurants serving delicious hors d’ouevres along with live music by the Absolute Blue band.
• Live music during the art festival from 12:30 pm to 7:00 pm Saturday and 12:30 pm to 5:00 pm Sunday on the Wickham Park Amphitheater Stage with a variety of local and regional acts sure to entertain.
• After the art show closes on Saturday night featured act Wicked Garden Gnomes will perform from 5:00 – 7:00 pm
• Sunday’s featured band is The Umbrella Thieves performing from 3:00 – 5:00 pm
• Multiple food vendors serving a variety of cuisine and snack options.

Proceeds raised during the weekend, along with those raised at the benefit art auction, are used to encourage and support the arts and art education in Brevard County; Offer Student Scholarships to junior high and high school students for art classes and camps; and funding other educational art efforts and local art organizations.

The Melbourne Arts Festival has donated more than $107,000 to the community.
