Sea Turtle Festival and IPEX Puppetry Will Return to Downtown Titusville May 10-11

The Downtown Titusville Merchant’s Association will host their 9th annual Sea Turtle Festival on Saturday, May 11. This event aims to partner with local organizations, vendors, and entertainers to educate the community on the importance of protecting the habitat of Brevard County’s beloved sea turtles.

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – The Downtown Titusville Merchant’s Association will host their 9th annual Sea Turtle Festival on Saturday, May 11.

This event aims to partner with local organizations, vendors, and entertainers to educate the community on the importance of protecting the habitat of Brevard County’s beloved sea turtles.

This year, Greater Titusville Renaissance, Inc. a local organization supporting the revitalization of North Brevard, is sponsoring the IBEX Puppetry “Endangered Species Puppet Parade” and activities.

Heather Henson, Creative Director of IBEX Puppetry, and her team will perform with large puppets featuring manatees, whooping cranes, sea turtles, kites, flags, costumed dancers and musicians representing the elements, environment and heartbeat of the planet.

To kick off the festival, the DTMA will be hosting a Thirsty Turtle Beer Crawl in partnership with Playalinda Brewing Company on Friday, May 10 from 5-9  p.m.

Those interested in attending can purchase a ticket in advance from the Titusville Welcome Center for $20, which includes beer samples from 12 local businesses.

Food trucks, including The Bearded Chef, will also be in attendance on Friday evening serving up unique and delicious dishes for beer crawlers.

This event aims to partner with local organizations, vendors, and entertainers to educate the community on the importance of protecting the habitat of Brevard County’s beloved sea turtles.

On Saturday, May 11 before the main event begins there will be a Junior Ranger program on Playalinda Beach from 8-10 a.m., followed by a riverside trash cleanup downtown at the end of Main St.

The festival continues all day on U.S. 1 in Downtown Titusville with live music, food trucks, turtle talks, local artisans, entertainment, and much more.

Entertainment includes face painting, sidewalk chalk art, dance groups, a photo booth with a mermaid, bounce house, and a Hidden Turtle Hunt.

There will also be local preservation groups present during the day to educate the community about what they can do to protect our waterways and endangered sea turtles.

Groups include Sea Turtle Preservation Society, Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge, Canaveral National Seashore, Native Plant Society, St. Johns Water Management District, and more.

Timeline of Saturday’s Festival:

8 a.m. – 10 a.m.: Junior Ranger Program on Playalinda Beach

9 a.m. – 10 a.m.: Riverside Cleanup on Main St and Indian River Ave

10 a.m. – 8 p.m.: Sea Turtle Festival in Downtown Titusville *additional itinerary to be announced
