Titusville Police: Bicyclist Killed in Traffic Crash near U.S. Hwy.1 and Malinda Lane

No charges are expected against the driver

A bicyclist was killed in a traffic crash at approximately 9:45 p.m. Friday night near the intersection of North Washington Avenue (U.S. Hwy.1) and Malinda Lane. The victim, who was not identified, was he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – A bicyclist was killed in a traffic crash at approximately 9:45 p.m. Friday night near the intersection of North Washington Avenue (U.S. Hwy.1) and Malinda Lane.

The Titusville police responded to the incident involving a vehicle and the bicyclist.

The victim, who was not identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The preliminary investigation revealed an adult male riding a bicycle crossed from the east into the northbound lane of North Washington Avenue,” said Amy Matthews, Titusville Police Department Public Affairs Coordinator/Public Information Officer.

Matthews said the victim was struck by a Ford F150 truck traveling northbound on North Washington Avenue.

No charges are expected against the driver of the truck and there were no other injuries.

“This traffic crash remains under investigation by the Titusville Police Department and further details will be released upon its conclusion by traffic crash investigators,” said Matthews.
