BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA (WESH) – A Brevard County teacher with more than 20 years of experience has been accused of abusing a child with autism on a school bus.

Margaret O’Connor, a teacher at Lockmar Elementary School in Palm Bay, was arrested after police said she was caught on video yanking a student down from the top of the stairs on the school bus.

The move allegedly caused the child to fall facedown on the pavement, an arrest report said.

According to an arrest report, O’Connor had been asked to help remove the child from the bus because he was throwing his shoes and trying to hit other students.
