Memorial Day Observance at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery Will Spotlight ‘The Sacrifice for Freedom’

Gold Star Parents Donn and Jeanne Weaver will be the keynote speakers

The Support Committee at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery and the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery are co-hosting the Memorial Day Observance to recognize and commemorate the sacrifices of the fallen men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces.

BREVARD COUNTY • SCOTTSMOOR, FLORIDA – The Support Committee at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery and the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery are co-hosting the Memorial Day Observance on May 27 at 11:30 a.m. to recognize and commemorate the sacrifices of the fallen men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces.

Gold Star Parents Donn and Jeanne Weaver will be the keynote speakers. The couple lost their son, Lt. Todd Weaver, when he was killed in action in Afghanistan in 2010.

The event will also include a Gold Wreath dedication, the Naval Ordinance Test Unit Honor Guard, music from local high school bands and more.

The Cape Canaveral National Cemetery at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery is located at 5525 U.S. Hwy. 1 in Scottsmoor, Florida.

Everyone is welcome to attend this memorable ceremony, and due to the limited available seating, please arrive early and bring outdoor chairs.
