BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – No. 4 Florida Tech softball is set to host its first-ever postseason games. The NCAA DII South Region 2 tournament is set to begin Thursday, May 9, at 1 p.m. and will take place at Nancy Bottge Field.

This is Florida Tech’s first trip to the postseason since 2015 when the team made it to the South Super Regional.

The No. 2 seed Panthers (39-10) will host No. 3 seed Alabama Huntsville (38-15), No. 6 seed Saint Leo (31-16) and No. 7 seed Mississippi College (38-14) in the South Region 2 bracket.

Tech has been one of the NCAA’s highest risers this season as they went from being unranked in the preseason poll to its current position as No. 4 in the nation. This No. 4 position is the highest ranking in program history.

Florida Tech also claimed its first Sunshine State Conference championship in program history as the women went 23-7 in conference play and ended the season with three straight sweeps of SSC opponents.

The Panther first game of the South Region 2 tournament is against Mississippi College in the first game of the weekend.
