(NASA) – NASA astronaut Christina Hammock Koch posted this image of Earth taken from aboard the International Space Station.

She said: “A couple times a year, the International Space Station orbit happens to align over the day/night shadow line on Earth.

NASA is continuously in sunlight, never passing into Earth’s shadow from the Sun, and the Earth below us is always in dawn or dusk. Beautiful time to cloud watch. #nofilter”

Christina H. Koch was selected as an astronaut by NASA in 2013. She completed astronaut candidate training in July 2015.

Koch, a native of Michigan, graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Physics and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering.

She is currently a part of the Expedition 59 and 60 crew that launched to the International Space Station in March 2019.
