BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA (FOX 35) – A Florida man captured on video lovebugs swarming his car, reminding us that lovebug season is underway.
Steven Collen took the video in Cocoa Village. A swarm of lovebugs are seen flying over his car and the people surrounding it.
Thankfully, lovebugs are not harmful to humans. The bugs, who originated in Central America, got their name because they fly around in mating pairs.
They migrated through Texas and Louisana before coming to Florida. They are still expanding and can be found as far north as South Carolina.
