13-Foot Hammerhead Shark Seen Feeding Near Florida Beach: ‘Experience of a Freaking Lifetime’

Lifeguards evacuated beach after hammerhead attacked and ate tarpon offshore

NAVARRE BEACH, FLORIDA – A 13-foot hammerhead shark cruising the beach looking for a meal sent beachgoers scrambling as it got a bit too close for comfort.
Navarre Beach Fire Rescue officials posted images of the sizable shark’s fins peeking up above the waves just offshore. T
Navarre Beach is located in the Florida Panhandle, about 20 miles east of Pensacola.
Christina Reinholt was there to chronicle the event on her Facebook page.
“This was on Navarre Beach earlier today,” she said in her post.
“An estimated 13-foot hammerhead attacked and ate a tarpon offshore. Lifeguards evacuated the water and some beachgoers got the experience of a freaking lifetime.”
