BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – This past Saturday our Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Enforcers Hockey Team hosted the Central Florida Enforcers for the First Annual Enforcers Cup at the Space Coast Iceplex in Rockledge.
Beyond winning the Enforcers Cup and bragging rights, the teams also matched up to raise funds for the Space Coast Blast Disabled Hockey Program.
The Blast Disabled Hockey Program runs a Sled Hockey League that helps disabled kids and young adults enjoy the sport of hockey at the Space Coast Iceplex, right here in our own backyard.
With a packed house, they kicked off the open ceremonies with the national anthem sung by BCSO’s own Lisa Mick, followed by the puck drop by Tripp Skinner, Captain of the Space Coast Blast.
The Central Florida Enforcers came out strong scoring the first goal of the night, however the Brevard County Enforcers quickly answered back with a goal and maintained momentum on the way to a 9-4 victory.
After the game the teams got together for a group photo and a check presentation to the Space Coast Blast in the amount of $1505.00!!
I could not be more proud of our team for all they do to help this amazing organization and to help our community!! A long time ago I started telling our citizens that “it takes a community to protect a community” and its events like this that demonstrate just how true a statement that is!
