FATAL CRASH: Rockledge Man Dies In Two-Car Crash On US Hwy. 1 in Melbourne, One Injured

crash happened around 5:40 p.m. WEDNESDAY
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – A 62-year-old Rockledge man has died after a vehicle crash on Wednesday along US Hwy. 1 and Helmsman Place in Melbourne.
According to the investigation by Florida Highway Patrol, the unidentified man was attempting to cross northbound US Hwy. 1 to turn left onto southbound US Hwy. 1 when he was struck by a Honda van around 5:40 p.m.
The man was pronounced dead at Health First’s Holmes Regional Medical Center a short time later.
The driver of the van, 46-year-old Lisa Yancey from Viera, suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash.
The Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash.
The identity of the man killed hasn’t been released by FHP at this time.
