BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Coral reefs are one of the most diverse, complex marine ecosystems on Earth – the quintessential rain forests of the sea.

It’s World Oceans Day and FWC is celebrating Florida’s Reef Tract.

As the only living reef in the continental U.S., it’s an iconic Florida gem with 45 coral species and home to countless sponges, fish, algae and invertebrates.

These days our reef is experiencing serious challenges – help protect our reef, avoid touching corals while diving and remember – respect, relax and enjoy the reef.
