BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Former Eastern Florida State College women’s soccer standout Khadija “Bunny” Shaw will be playing with the Jamaica National Team in the World Cup beginning this weekend.

It is Jamaica’s first appearance in the FIFA Women’s World Cup after Shaw led the team to a third-place finish in the CONCACAF women’s championship.

The Spanish Town, Jamaica forward is one of the leaders on the Jamaican team, scoring three goals in the five matches at the women’s championship in the fall and has 29 goals in 21 career games for the Raggae Girlz.

Shaw was a first-team All-American at Eastern Florida State College, leading the Titans to the national tournament both seasons, finishing with 24 goals and 11 assists in 21 games.

From there she went to the University of Tennessee and led UT in goals scored in 2017 and 2018 and contributing to the team’s appearance in the NCAA tournament quarterfinals for the first time since 2016.

Shaw and Jamaica are in Group C with Australia, Italy and Brazil and will open the group phase Sunday at 9:30 a.m. against Brazil with games against Italy June 14 and Australia June 18 during the group phase.
